The TPLF said it had temporarily moved out of the Tigray capital. Reuters, citing three sources, and AP report that government forces and allied militias control the city. We found no official federal statement.

Ethiopia closed its embassy in Asmara and expelled 10 Eritrean diplomats, and Eritrea cut all ties. Egypt and Ethiopia then each expelled one diplomat. Egypt hosts Eritrea, Somalia and Sudan's leaders on Sunday.

Somalia's electoral commission says President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud's party won 67 of 89 Galmudug assembly seats. One outlet reports it also won 78 of 99 in Hirshabelle. The party that won the court case in Galmudug was kept off the ballot.
