Live trackers
The Field runs its own live trackers where we can check them every day. For other conflicts, we point you to the best outside sources instead of copying them.
We check each of our trackers once a day, around 06:00 East Africa Time. Every entry has a linked source and one of four labels: confirmed, reported, claimed or unconfirmed.
Our trackers

Elsewhere in the world
We do not run our own trackers on these. Each link goes to an outside source that keeps it up to date, and we describe only what that source covers.
Russia and Ukraine
The war that began with Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022 continues, with long-range drone strikes by both sides. The Institute for the Study of War, a US research group, publishes a daily assessment with maps.

The United States, Israel, Iran and the Strait of Hormuz
Since the United States and Israel attacked Iran on 28 February 2026, shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has been badly disrupted, and no lasting settlement has been reached. The UK Maritime Trade Operations centre reports shipping incidents. Critical Threats, a US research group, publishes analysis.

Yemen, the Houthis and Saudi Arabia
Fighting between the Houthis and a Saudi-led coalition, largely quiet since the April 2022 truce, has escalated again, including Houthi attacks on shipping in the Red Sea. The UN Security Council has called on the Houthis to end the escalation.

Every other conflict
For conflicts we do not cover, these four sources track them worldwide: armed-conflict data, a global tracker, monthly crisis summaries and UN Security Council forecasts.
