Dr. Assegid "AZ" Habtewold is an Ethiopian-American leadership strategist, author, and organizational development consultant. He is the founder of The A to Z Institute and publisher of The A to Z Review. Through his books, including Strategic Edge, he helps leaders strengthen critical thinking, strategic decision-making, and execution. He was President of the Addis Ababa University Students' Union during the 1998 Ethiopia–Eritrea war.
A former student leader from the 1998 war argues that Ethiopia's grievance over the port of Assab is real, that a war would not give it a port it could keep, and that Eritrea should turn Assab into a deal while it still holds it.
